I gently tuck a lock of my hair behind my right ear and gape out of the window. Our driver honks loudly at a truck moving in slow ass speed in front of our car. City traffic is cruel as usual, not leaving even an inch for it to trudge ahead. I grumble something under my breath. After hours of impassive trapeze work in front of the computer, one expects a better treatment at least while going back home… I rest my head on the seat and mull over the list of things-to-do, that seems to be growing in geometric progression. The transfer of ECS that’s yet to be done, the dizzying mobile bill which badly calls for a responsible curb on the extravagance… The meeting tomorrow that would take at least fifty decades to finish … And of course the mammoth PPT that needs to be wound up over the weekend. Damn.
I close my eyes. The AC in the car is a tad bit colder than I can tolerate, sending a slight shiver down my body, and goose bumps follow. I shift my weight to the left side in an attempt to stretch my stiff limbs and look ahead at the line of streetlights that my car shall pass through in the next few minutes.
Suddenly, a familiar sense of warmth engulfs my tired torso softly. I feel the imaginary translucence of its light rest below my eyes, somewhere on my cheekbone... and I smile involuntarily, nodding to the rhythm of its breath. I recognize this, I tell myself. Still smiling, I turn to my left and see you watching me passionately. You tilt your head and exhale slowly, returning a smile to me and strengthening a reassuring grip on my palm. And in your ivory gaze, I let loose the cloud of all my worries and pain, which then quietly melt away into non existence.
