Following is an interesting chat session between me and a friend today morning. I have edited this a bit so that it conveys the meaning to someone reading it.. Now before anyone reads the following, you must know the background to it, just to get the larger picture. So here goes.
Vyom, a fellow blogger, fellow Dilli-ite and a nice crazy friend, is nowadays... lemme say... trapped in Rajkot, Gujarat (I had earlier for some reason mentioned Ahd. Sorry... My bad.). I don’t think it’s his job that’s troubling him, but the fact that he’s mostly been in cities like Delhi or Mumbai to tolerate the quietness of a ‘peaceful’ (now that’s also a debatable adjective) city like Rajkot. Adding to it that I don’t doubt even a bit on his capability and perseverance to live a happy and happening life wherever he goes, being a jolly-headed person that he is, I dedicate this post to him and my Dilli.
Vyom thought that I told him I would be in Ahmedabad (and that IS Ahmedabad and not Rajkot) this week for a presentation to a person of an important political stature. I am obviously not there as the ppt got postponed for the coming week. But all this is just for your gyan... the gist of the matter is that we discussed the world in a few minutes and came to a rather strategic conclusion at the end of this conversation. My comments wherever mentioned are emboldened for your reference... :)
So on this Friday morning, I suddenly get a gtalk ping from this friend of mine…
Vyom: hip hop mamma laid spic n span
i met her one summer when it all began
summer girls are the kind i like
i'll steal your honey, like i stole your bike

Crab: is everything ok?
:)
Now that’s what you call a 'good' morning eh?
Or is it the fact that its a 'Friday' morning
:)
Sent at 10:17 AM on Friday
Vyom: sales waalon ka Friday nahin hota
:(
Crab: nahi consultants ka
Vyom: :'(
Crab: hamara toh Saturday aur Sunday bhi nahi hota
Vyom: hmmm
sad life
Crab: life?
is there a life here?
its just SAD
:)
but anyway.. have to squeeze in 'Wanted' and 'Whats Your Rashi' this weekend somehow
its been ages since a movie has happened to me
what abt you?
any new gujju movie?
Vyom: can i call you KAMINEEE?
see that’s called being polite
Crab: hehehe
Vyom: i saw ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’
Crab: hadippa! yeh hui na baat!!
hows it?
Vyom (Not paying any attention to an extremely important question which could have ascertained the worth of a humungously 'pathbreaking' movie): and arent you supposed to be MODIfying your ppt???
Crab: hmph! No
Vyom: kyun?
MODI ne goli de di?
Crab: had two late nights in a row before the ppt yesterday
the boss hasnt called me since morning, so im having fun in life doing nothing
….
Oh are you talking about the ahd ppt… that ppt got postponed to the coming week
:D
this is another ppt im talking about
Vyom: so you got a free trip to ahd
and now you'll be back again for another ppt
Crab: no
i dint come to ahd at all
im still in mumbai
Vyom: idiot
2 days back we talked
you said you were in ahd… hai na?
Crab: i DID NOT
i said i may be coming on Friday
miscommunication i guess
Vyom: ohhho
yeah yeah
miss communication
Crab: so i dont have to travel for now and that makes me happy :)
because i am too dead to travel
Vyom: too dead to travel
skeleton unravel
Crab: do they charge for dead bodies on the plane by the way?
Vyom: i dont know
i think they pay them
half of the hostesses are almost dead
(Just to caveat, we mean no offence to any air hostess reading this as we have storng reasons to believe you would belong to the other undead half... i mean... duh, obviously...)
Crab: LoLs
yeah i guess then its cheaper to travel when you are dead
:D
Vyom: should be
Crab: yeah… how would you know
you are not dead!
Vyom: i have never been dead
Crab: really?
thats interesting!
Vyom: but i live in a dead city
Crab: hahaha
and i live in a city that never dies.. and believe me that’s also very very irritating
Vyom: okay i think now is the time for us to solemnly stand
and take a deep breath
and scream at the top of our voice, DILLI ROCKS!!!
Crab: YES YES!!!!
anytime!
Vyom: he he
Banter or whatever.. i laughed like crazy and it made my day... :) or should i say that it made my Friday... :) That's why it's here. Thanks Vyom.

I needed to read something like those last few lines and scream with a fellow Delhiite the very same thing - 'Dilli rocks' :))
Read a post on a fellow-blogger's blog with such gross remarks about Dilli and Dilliites in general that I'd been pissed since then. Dilli-bashing is in style over the net..
anyway.. glad to find you in your usual usual cheery mood .. we love the crab :)
ah!! maybe I should add him on my gtalk!! Btw am definitely adding you. So any weird request from weird ids THAT's me!!!
i love it when the boss doesnt call...no call is good news :P
didn't kno crab was a consultant too :P
i pity neone stuck in ahd...especially coming from delhi
well well... questions of cosmic significance being discussed!!
@aria: Awww... :) Thanks so much dear..
But lets not forget that Dilli has a dark side as well, sadly. I personally do not like a lot of things about the city. But, its the place that i attach my childhood and my best memories to.
I love dilli because it made me what i am today. What i love even more is that depsite that, dumb people like me defy the myth that all Dillites are chalu people... :D heh...
Thanks for dropping by and being lovable as usual!
@B&B: Hii!!! do that do that.. you'll have to say bye bye to that very little corner of sadness that you'll have left around inside your mind... :)
As for me, ping me anytime! :)
@Gaurav: Heheh.. i agree. No call from boss is good news indeed. And Crab is a consultant too! Why do you think she always answers people to confuse them!
@Marvin: Cosmic significance? Batao, i can only expect you to come up with such intelligent words from a bakar-talk like above... :)
Shat Shat Pranaaam!
Who doesn't like the boss not calling? Oh I have some tales to tell too!
@Nikki: There you go!... I'm all ears... i mean all eyes! :)
ashenglow, old pal....how have you been? :)
